Turn-by-turn directions for civic life

Your civic GPS.

Civic Agent maps every body that governs your address and reads their agendas for you. It warns you before the vote, shows what each option costs your household, lays out every side's best case, and recommends the best route if you want to take part. You choose the destination.

Starting where we live: Cedar City, Utah. Everyone else gets their civic map, every body that governs them, while we grow.

Heads up: written comments on the 140-townhome rezoning close Tuesday at 5pm. It's about half a mile from you, and neighbors see it three different ways. Each side's case, in words they'd accept:Open the card
will it raise my taxes
No. For your household the effects are traffic at your school drop-off and about two years of construction. Costs and benefits for renters, the school, and nearby owners are on the card.
how do I comment
Email the commission by Tue 5pm, or speak at the hearing Nov 10. Want help putting your view in your own words?

The idea

A GPS for the decisions that shape your town.

A GPS doesn't pick where you're going. It knows the roads, warns you about what's ahead, recommends the best route, and won't let you go the wrong way down a one-way street. Civic Agent does the same for city councils, school boards, and county commissions.

You setThe destination

You decide what you think. Your agent never tells you how to vote or which side to take.

It knowsThe map

Every body that governs your address, who represents you on each, and what's on their agendas.

It callsThe next turn

A heads-up while you can still act, what each option costs you, and the best route to weigh in or show up.

How it works

Set your address once. Then it watches the road ahead.

  1. Set your location

An address and a few household facts, like whether you own or rent and whether you have kids in local schools. In five minutes your agent maps every body that governs you. Most people can name two of the nine.

  2. A heads-up before the turn

When an agenda item touches your street, your school, or your taxes, you get a text while there's still time to act, not after the vote. At most two alerts a week, and a short weekly briefing that ends when it's done.

  3. See what each option costs

A cost range for your household, the method behind it, and a calculator that runs on your phone and never stores what you type. Next to it: who else pays, and who benefits.

  4. See every side, not just one

Each contested item shows the main views in words the people holding them would sign off on, in the same order for everyone. Plus one decision from across town every week, so you see more than your own block.

  5. Turn-by-turn directions to take part

Your agent recommends the best way to make your view count: who decides, where to send it, and when. It warns you before a dead end, like a closed comment window or the wrong office. Help putting your view in your own words, never a form letter, and the local groups already working on it.

  6. Keep it, or delete it

See everything your agent knows about you on one page. Export it or delete it all in one tap. You can even give your agent a name.

Our promises

On your side about your interests. You choose the destination.

A GPS that took money to steer you would be useless. These are the rules your agent runs on, and they don't bend for a sponsor, a city, or a cause.

Every side, before any alert

Your agent never alerts you to a contested item without each side's best case. A panel of residents chosen by lottery checks that each side would recognize its own view.

No destination pushed

It never tells you which side to take. It recommends the best route for the view you choose, and it shows you why neighbors disagree.

Built for residents only

No ads. No city money. No developer, builder, or real-estate customers. Free at its core, funded by civic philanthropy and library partners.

Your numbers stay on your phone

Cost estimates use public assessed values only. Calculators for income or miles driven run on your device and never store what you enter.

Beyond your block, always

Every week includes a decision from across town. You can rearrange your dashboard, but you can't hide the rest of your community.

Yours to see and delete

One page shows everything your agent holds about you. Export it or erase it in one tap. Nothing is kept after you delete.

Join the waitlist

We open one city at a time, so each one works fully.

Cities move up the list when enough neighbors sign up and a library or local partner joins. Your address tells us where interest is growing.

Cedar City, Utah. Our first city, where we live. A small group of residents tries it first.
Next cities. Chosen by waitlist sign-ups and local partners.
Everywhere else. Your civic map: every body that governs your address, while we grow.
